"Mandazi" happens to be a delicious (so claim the consumers) fried delicacy found in some regions of East Africa. It looks like an intrigueing version of the Indian Samosa. "Mandazhi" here, however, is not a savoury bread, but a word that means "group", in the loosest translation-- the "zh" is used in english transliterations of some words of the Malayalam and Tamil languages to be pronounced in the range from "L" to "R" that is undescribable in text!

The "group" is also loose-- friends, acquaintances.
